Sydney Rogers aka Miss Barbie-Q

Miss Barbie-Q: The Ultimate Showstopper, Storyteller & Social Changemaker

A powerhouse of talent, charisma, and unapologetic authenticity, Miss Barbie-Q is more than just a performer—she’s a movement. With over 25 years in the drag and entertainment industry, she has captivated audiences worldwide as an actor, singer, host, and advocate. A true trailblazer, she fuses comedy, camp, and consciousness to create performances that are equal parts dazzling and thought-provoking.

Her journey to becoming the powerhouse she is today has been one of evolution, resilience, and self-discovery. Born into the world as a gay boy, she first found freedom in drag, where performance became a gateway to deeper self-expression. As she embraced fluidity, she identified as non-binary, exploring the vast landscape of gender beyond the binary. But the deeper she delved into her truth, the clearer it became—she wasn’t just performing femininity, she was living it. In 2018, she fully transitioned, stepping into her power as the Black Trans woman she was always meant to be.

Known for her high-energy stage presence and signature 70s Foxy Brown aesthetic, Miss Barbie-Q is a force to be reckoned with. Whether she’s commanding the mic at a packed nightclub, reading to children at Big Mama Story Time, or leading conversations on Trans empowerment and economic justice, her impact is undeniable.

Beyond the spotlight, Miss Barbie-Q is an industry leader and changemaker, dedicated to creating equity for Trans and non-binary communities. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the LGBTQ+ Commission, advocating for policies and initiatives that uplift and protect LGBTQ+ individuals. As the Program Manager for the Trans Economic Empowerment Project & Equity – Community Programs at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, she is a driving force behind economic inclusion and professional development for Trans people. She is also the Co-Director of the TG/Enby Project and the Founder of Miss B Enterprises, an umbrella for her work in Infinite Equity Strategies, Miss Barbie-Q Productions, and Big Mama Story Time.

Miss Barbie-Q’s leadership extends into national advocacy and the arts. She is a member of The Marsha P. Johnson Institute, the National Social Workers Association, Mirror Memoirs, and the National Association of Black Social Workers. She also serves as a Board Member of Celebration Theatre, contributing to its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
